The space occupied by the files has been returned to the system as available for storage, the files are still on the drive. Why? Because when you empty trash bin on Mac, the data seems disappeared from your Mac but the fact is that you just erased the hard drive’s directory entries, not the files themselves. Is that possible? The answer is absolutely “YES”. Or sometime we desperately need to get back the files that we deleted by clicking “Empty Trash”. We may accidentally delete our important documents, pictures, movies, music files by “Command+Delete”. Then any good opinion on how to recover deleted files on Mac OS X 10.6.8? I tried time machine, but it did not work. I can not restore files that were moved to trash. ![]() Problem: My girlfriend once saved some of her important files for nursing school in the trash, and I unknowingly emptied the trash.
